Found this retrofit solution in an air conditioned prayer hall in an old Malaccan mosque. When it was built they used vent blocks for natural ventilation. When they put air conditioners recently, instead of covering up the blocks, they put up sliding glass panels to seal off he hall. They switch on the AC only for the duration of congregational ptayer, like half to an hour five times a day. This way the comfort condition of the prayer hall is still acceptable outside air conditioned period when the glazing are opened for natural ventilation. During which only a handful of people use the hall. HAD they sealed the hall permanently, then most of the time it had to be air conditioned. Photo Taken April 2016
